Following the success of last year's Draw:Wales initiative, Wales Week London has once again collaborated with Welsh artist Nichola Hope to create a book that helps to showcase the culture of Wales through its rich tapestry of words and art.

Voices Lleisiau is a collection of works where pictures and words collide.

We invited a selection of Welsh writers and poets to respond to original artworks by Welsh artists.

This book celebrates Welsh voices - Wales is a nation of storytellers - storytelling is empowering because it gives us voice; it provides new perspectives and promotes creativity. Artists often tell stories through pictures, and in this collection the writers' responses enrich our visual vocabulary, and invite exciting new perspectives, whilst unravelling new layers of meaning.

All the contributors have done so freely; the artists, the writers, the translators, and also our dear friend, designer Dave Hopkins, who has designed the book for us. And we have been most fortunate in attracting the incredible support of our sponsor, Lexington Corporate Advisory to ensure that in publishing this beautiful book we have done so at no cost - thereby enabling all the funds generated from the sales of the book to go directly to Wales Week London's designated charity, Velindre.

The official launch event will take place at the Open Evening of the annual Exhibition of Welsh Contemporary Art, held each year at the London Welsh Centre.

You'll be able to purchase your own copy of this limited edition book on the night, price @ £24.99.

Many of the paintings / drawings have also generously been donated by the artists, which will be auctioned, again to support Velindre - details will be provided very soon.

(If you're not able to make the evening please look out on twitter @welsh_art or @walesweeklondon @wythnoscymllun or on instagram @welsh.art for details on how to purchase your own copies.)

Everyone is welcome - please let us know if you'd like to join us by using the email contact above.

We look forward to seeing you on the night.
