THIS SPECIAL AUCTION IS NOW LIVE HERE - GET BIDDING TO OWN A UNIQUE COLLECTION OF WELSH ART!
We're excited to announce that for Wales Week London this year, in a collaboration between Wales Week London and Welsh artist Nichola Hope, we are running Draw:Wales, the Welsh artists' sketchbook journey around Wales.
We have commissioned hand-made sketchbooks by Welsh artist and book-maker Carole King of Nant Designs, which are travelling around Wales, visiting a range of Welsh artists, who are filling the sketchbooks with their own drawings, sketches and paintings.
The sketchbooks will be displayed at Wales Week London's annual Exhibition of Contemporary Welsh Art, which is hosted and run every year by our wonderful friends at the London Welsh Centre, this year being held over Friday 18th - Sunday 20th February 2022.
This will be a unique and special set of sketchbooks (presented in a bespoke presentation box); showcasing the diversity, creativity and quality of contemporary Welsh art.
The artists contributing include Kevin Sinnott, Alan Salisbury, Emrys Williams, Aiden Myers, Nichola Hope, Melanie Wotton, Catrin Williams, Meinir Mathias, Sarah Hope, Steffan Jones-Hughes, Elfyn Lewis, Philippa Robbins, and many more.
The sketchbooks will ultimately be auctioned off to raise money for Wales Week London's official charity partner Velindre - details of how to place your bids (in person and / or online) will be announced shortly. The auction will take place at the Private View / Open Evening of the Exhibition, at the London Welsh Centre on Friday 18th February.
Special thanks go to all the Welsh artists, who have generously given their time and expertise to this special initiative - as well as to the London Welsh Centre, which continues to support the arts in Wales in such a positive and proactive way - and of course to Nichola Hope for her energy and drive in bringing the project to life.
