Celebratory luncheon marking St David's Day with the City of London Sheriff.
The lunch is an opportunity to celebrate St David’s Day, Wales Week London and the business, civic and cultural ties between the City of London and Wales.
Wales Week London provides an opportunity for organisations in Wales to promote their products and services, and develop new London-based audiences, partnerships and connections.
The City of London is proud of its City Partnership with Cardiff and of continuing to strength its ties with Wales to advance the global competitiveness of the UK.
Alderman & Sheriff Alison Gowman was elected as one of the two Sheriffs of the City of London for 2021 / 2022. A key part of the role as Sheriff is to support the Lord Mayor as a global ambassador for the UK financial and professional services sector and the City of London Corporation in the promotion and advocacy of the City as the leading global centre for business, professional, technical, and financial services.
The Sheriffs of the City of London uphold the rule of law as custodians of the Old Bailey, liaise with and support HM Judges and support the Lord Mayor in their civic duties as well as in the promotion of their Mayoral Theme, which for 2021 / 2022 is People and Purpose – Investing in a better tomorrow focusing on skills, social mobility and sustainable finance.
This luncheon serves as an opportunity to bring together all those with an interest in the topic above, shine a spotlight on the Old Bailey and the work of both the City of London Corporation and of The Lord Mayor.
