The Business in the Community (BITC) Newport Place Programme is a collaborative initiative launched in October 2022, designed to bring together businesses, community organisations, and public sector partners to address social and economic challenges in Newport, Wales.

Once shaped by the legacy of industrial decline, the city is now embracing a bold vision for inclusive growth, community empowerment, and urban renewal. The challenges of deprivation, rooted in economic, social, and structural factors, are being met head-on through coordinated strategies that position Newport as a city of opportunity, creativity, and resilience.
This reception will showcase the impact Business in the Community and our partners have achieved in Newport, highlight the importance of taking a collaborative approach to addressing challenges and present the successful outcomes of the King’s Seeing is Believing visit.
We will celebrate Newport’s strengths and potential, outline our ambitions for education, skills, employment, communities and economic growth and identify the support needed from Government, businesses, and partners, inside and outside the city.
