How can Welsh and Irish be used to tell stories in unique ways?
The way we speak plays a pivotal role in shaping our relationships to each other and to our communities. Nowhere else is this more true than for minority language speakers, whose ways of (and reasons for) speaking can’t help but reflect the complex historical and social context in which they live.
Join us as we watch four short films that use Welsh and Irish as storytelling tools to give a unique dimension to their narrative and characters.
Following the screenings, there will be a brief discussion on the topic of how Celtic languages are used in the films shown and beyond.
The event is being held in the upstairs bar. Kindly be aware that there is no lift access.
