A St David’s Day lunch at the beautiful One Moorgate Place, London - home of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales, and to the beautiful stained glass windows of Swansea based glass artist, Alexander Beleschenko.
These stunning windows embody the craftsmanship and creativity at the heart of First Of March and are a wonderful backdrop to the launch of two First Of March initiatives designed to further support and nurture emerging and established Makers living and working in Wales.
The lunch will celebrate the artistic excellence and talent within the world of Welsh Craftsmanship - excellence which underpins our online gallery and showcase - www.firstofmarch.com and I’m delighted that the work of Alex Beleschenko will be the backdrop to our celebrations.
Alex - a prolific and internationally-acclaimed glass artist - is based in Swansea. He was recently commissioned to create these three stunning windows, which are just one example of his work in London - he created the beautiful canopies at 22 Bishopsgate and the centrepiece in the Senedd debating chamber.
Reflecting the celebratory spirit of the event, we’re hoping to showcase the work of Zoe Bradley (TBC) - a paper artist from Cowbridge. She has worked with international luxury brands and created the Liberty Christmas windows in the early 2000s. Her work will provide a more sustainable solution to the usual floral decoration, while celebrating the connection between creative expertise and business excellence.
After lunch, weather permitting, there will be an opportunity to walk to Bishopsgate to see more of Alex’s work - the colourful and innovative canopies at no 22.
