Wales Week London kicks off for 2025!
The largest annual programme of events celebrating and promoting Wales gets underway in London for its ninth successive year.
With 130 activities and events taking place across London over the next fortnight, Wales Week London is once again providing the perfect platform for businesses and organisations across a range of sectors and industries to showcase themselves to new audiences, develop new business partnerships, build new connections and together show off the very best of Wales.
Held around the time of St David’s Day each year, through a programme of activities and events spanning business, sport, tech, the arts, food and drink, entertainment, and much more, Wales Week is the annual initiative that helps to commemorate Wales’ national day, celebrate Welsh culture and heritage, and to promote a modern Wales to the rest of the world.
Developed in 2017, when 56 events were held at the very first Wales Week London, since then some 75,000 people have attended over 780 events across 155 different venues; and generating an online reach of approximately 12 million during that time.
From a business and economic perspective, this year’s programme is showcasing the best of Wales in AI, life sciences, fintech, startups and innovation, inward investment, cyber, financial services, digital, branding, green economy and renewable energy, architecture, legal, women in leadership, and change-making.
And with a host of other events covering Welsh theatre, film, comedy, music and song, contemporary art, archaeology, sport, food and drink, the packed schedule has something for everyone.
Dan Langford, co-founder and Chair of Wales Week London said, “Once again, we’re just completely inspired by the amazing contributions of so many individuals, business and organisations that lend their time, energy and support to ensure the Wales Week keeps building, every year.
“Wales Week is the culmination of all their incredible efforts; creating a huge amount of Welsh noise across London every year; creating opportunities to leverage new audiences, build new partnerships and raise their profiles in a rewarding and powerful way.
“We simply can’t thank our sponsors, partners and all the event organisers enough for everything they do, as well as the thousands of people who turn up to attend the events, for coming back to be part of the Wales Week movement, year after year.”
Wales Week works closely with both the Welsh Government and the UK Government, as well working with other international governments through their embassies in London; countries such as France, USA, Switzerland, Canada, Hungary, Slovakia, and others, whose ambassadors in the UK host receptions to highlight the important links for their countries with Wales, through business and culture.
Wales Week London is part of the wider Wales Week Worldwide initiative, that has seen Wales Weeks take place in some 23 other locations around the world.
Working with a number of international partners and government, this year the international programme includes Wales Week Malta, Ireland, Copenhagen, Berkshire, Melbourne, Ohio, Iran, Detroit, Berlin, Paris, The Hague, Madrid, and Kyrgyzstan.
