To mark Wales Week in London and to honour two of Wales’ greatest sporting heroes we will be naming each end of one of our new Intercity Express Trains after Sir Gareth Edwards and John Charles.
Sir Gareth will perform the naming of his end of the train at Cardiff Central station on Wednesday 7 March. He will then travel to London Paddington on that train, and will join with members of John Charles family, Juventus and Leeds United football clubs to name the other end of the train.
This is a scheduled service which will leave on time from Cardiff at 10.56am. We will perform the naming there at 10.30am.
On arrival in Paddington we will perform the second naming shortly after passengers have left the service.
