Celebrate St David’s Day with a Welsh produce showcase at Borough Market, Thursday 1st March and Friday 2nd March 2018, 10.00am-5.00pm.
Borough Market will be celebrating St David’s Day in style, with guest traders setting up shop in the Market Hall to sell some of the best Welsh produce available.
It’s a chance to get hold of Wales’ finest iconic food – from traditional Welsh cakes and Bara Brith to Anglesey sea salt, cockles and farmhouse cheeses.
On St David’s Day visitors can also get culinary inspiration from Welsh cookery school teacher, broadcaster and mother of five, Lisa Fearn, who will be taking the helm of the demo kitchen from 12.00-1.30pm. Using seasonal ingredients from the Market and delicious Welsh produce, Lisa will prepare recipes including Cockle and bacon chowder and Welsh cake crumble with rhubarb compote.
After Lisa’s demo at 1.30pm the Welsh male voice choir, Eschoir, will be singing their hearts out and performing some well-known classics. Visitors will be encouraged to sing along and help celebrate Dewi Sant!
Borough Market’s resident stallholders will also be joining the guest traders to showcase their own Welsh produce.
There will be recipe cards to take away, a showcase of regional delights and leeks and daffodils a plenty as Borough Market celebrates St David’s day with its Welsh traders and visitors. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!
The Welsh Showcase will take place between 10am and 5pm on Thursday 1st March, and 10am - 6pm on Friday 2nd March.
There will be guest producers alongside the established market stalls of Charcuterie, Rhug Estate, and New Forest Cider will be offering a selection of Welsh ciders.
