As part of Wales Week London, we are hosting the Railway Cinema Night.

Michael Portillo journalist, broadcaster of the Railway Journeys series and former politician, will discuss historic rail links in Wales and the mainline to London.

Noel Dolphin will discuss the current importance of rail links to Wales and the recent works to improve connectivity with the rest of the UK.

This will be followed by the historic 1959 British Transport Films short documentary Under the River, which examined the Severn Tunnel's complex construction.

A short Q&A session will follow the film.

A unique event to learn about the history and current importance of the railway in the region, as well as the engineering challenges in the Severn Tunnel.

The event will be raising money for the Rail Benefit Fund’s Railway Family Week and their 1858 Challenge.
