Since 1904, the Welsh community in London has held an annual St David's Day Dinner.
This year’s dinner will be held on Tuesday, 1st March 2022 at Guildhall, City of London, and in support of the Wales in London Philanthropic Fund and the Community Foundation in Wales.
Returning post COVID for what will be a spectacular evening, we cannot wait to welcome you back!
The event will be an evening of:
- Champagne reception in the Guildhall Crypt
- Singing by the London Welsh Male Voice Choir with around 50 choristers in attendance
- Toast in memory of Dewi Sant by Guy Masterson
- Keynote speaker Brigadier Phil Prosser CBE
Brigadier Phil Prosser CBE is commander of 101 Logistics brigade and has spent the previous two years leading the significant military part of of the UK governments response to COVID, you will have likely seen him standing next to Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP and Prof Chris Whitty throughout 2021 news broadcasts.
Guy Masterson is an actor, theatre director and Olivier Award winning producer based in London. Born in 1961 the son of Marian James and Carl Mastroianni and raised in Port Talbot, South Wales and London, his lineage in the entertainment industry is remarkable; his maternal uncle was the actor Richard Burton. His father's second cousin was the Italian superstar Marcello Mastroianni! The two lines come together in him.
For those wanting to continue after the Guildhall event comes to an end at 11pm, we have also arranged for a nearby tavern to be available for our exclusive use. For those wanting to sing and enjoy the evening further, this will be in the "Trading House", just 300 yards from the Guildhall.
The evening will be an excellent opportunity to catch up with old friends along with making new ones, all whilst enjoying fabulous food, drinks and entertainment.
