Join us in celebrating St Davids Day in a heartfelt gesture demonstrating the words of our patron saint to 'Do the little things in life’.
To celebrate St Davids Day, Tenovus Cancer Care will host an awareness event in Cardiff, Swansea and at Wales Week London to mark this special day in the Welsh calendar.
Volunteers and staff from our Wales-based charity will simultaneously hand out daffodils to train commuters in a heartfelt gesture demonstrating the words of our patron saint to 'Do the little things in life’.
The daffodils will be hand-delivered to commuters at Cardiff Central, Swansea and London Paddington railway stations as commuters travel into work on Friday 28 February between 07:30 and 10:00.
- We are looking for volunteers to join us to hand out daffodils - to join us please email verity.cadwallader@tenovuscancercare.org.uk or call 07467 822 603.
With each daffodil, there will also be a small card with a St David’s Day message and information about the charity’s Support Line
Tenovus Cancer Care Head of Fundraising, Siôn Edwards, said: “As our patron saint said, it’s doing the little things in life that matter the most. Last year, we had such wonderful feedback from surprising commuters with a daffodil that we decided to reach even more people across Wales this time, as well as sharing the gesture over the border with passengers at London Paddington too. Thank you very much to Transport for Wales, Network Rail, and GWR for their support in making this happen.
“We hope this simple act of kindness will also be a chance to make more people aware of our services and the support we offer. Our specialist advisors are available every day of the year to support anyone affected by cancer – 0808 808 1010.”
