Part of the Wales Week London programme, this pitching event will showcase the blossoming tech ecosystem of Wales.

Hosted at Mansion House, City of London, this event will showcase investment opportunities in the Welsh tech ecosystem. The event will include pitching presentations from innovative, high growth tech businesses seeking to raise equity capital. The companies were nominated and selected by investors and advisers within the Welsh ecosystem as candidates for the Investing in Future Wales event.

Following the pitching session, investors will get the chance to find out more about the investment opportunities available via a speed networking session.

During the event, you will also hear from Tim Levene, CEO of the UK’s only publicly listed, fintech-focused investment company Augmentum Fintech. After launching the first iteration of the fund in 2010 with the backing of RIT and Lord Rothschild, Tim and Co-Founder Richard Matthews launched Augmentum Fintech plc on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in 2018.

An experienced entrepreneur and investor, Tim has sat on multiple fintech boards including interactive investor, Tide and Zopa and is highly active in cross-industry initiatives working to boost the UK fintech sector such as the UK FinTech Strategy Group and Innovate Finance. Tim was a founding employee of Flutter.com, which became one of the highest profile digital businesses in the UK after it merged with Betfair.com in 2001.

A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Tim was elected in the City of London as an Alderman in the Ward of Bridge in 2022.

You will also hear from Welsh Government's Director of International Relations and Trade, Andrew Gwatkin and Jenny Knott, NED at the British Business Bank. Jenny is both a board level investment banker with over 30 years’ experience, as well as a leading innovator in financial technologies. Jenny has extensive board experience having served on Boards of Global Investment Banks, Corporates and Charitable organisations for over 25 years.

Our speakers will touch upon the importance of investing in underrepresented areas to drive sustainable economic growth, the recently launched £130m Investment Fund for Wales and the Welsh opportunity for private investors and SMEs from across the UK. The event is hosted by British Business Bank, Welsh Government, City of London Corporation and the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade in partnership with Tramshed Tech, M-Sparc and Fintech Wales.
