The story of Welsh migration includes both emigration and immigration, to and from Wales, motivated by religious, political and economic factors.

Since the seventeenth century different groups of migrants journeyed to new lands including America and Australia.

A little nearer home, many Welsh natives moved to (and from) London and other key cities in England. Equally many English families upped sticks and moved to work and live in the South Wales coalfields.

If you have 'lost' your family from Census records, or are attempting to trace your Welsh-sounding family (surnames again!) back to their native origins then do join us for an hour of migration records and research with ideas for making breakthrough research with Gill Thomas.
